Description
Antique 19th century Victorian five stone ring set with old mine cut diamonds weighing .85 carats total within a 18k yellow gold setting. Five stone ring like this were popular during the Victorian era, symbolizing love and continuity, and were often given as engagement or anniversary rings. The diamonds are secured in a carved, scalloped prong mounting with open backs, an era typical design that allows light to pass through the stones while showcasing the craftsmanship of the gold-work. Markings on the interior of the band are largely faded with age, though a partial letter “d” remains visible.
