Description
Antique Edwardian engagement ring centered with a GIA Certified 1.28 carat old European cut diamond, approximately .25 carats of diamond accents and .20 carats of sapphires within a carved platinum setting. The finely carved platinum setting showcases delicate filigree and graceful geometric details characteristic of the Edwardian era, when platinum’s strength allowed jewelers to create light, lace-like designs that felt both airy and refined. Sapphires were a favored choice for adding depth of color and symbolism of loyalty, enhancing the brilliance of the central diamond. Inside the band, the ring is engraved “Sept. 5th 1911”, marking both its period authenticity and precious platinum composition — and perhaps even commemorating a special date from its original owner.
